Overview
Missouri S&T offers a competitive scholarship package to incoming fall 2027 freshmen who are named National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
This scholarship package includes:
- Tuition and fee scholarship valued at up to $12,000 per year in-state/$28,000 per year out-of-state (renewable)
- On-campus housing scholarship up to $8,000 (first year only)
- Up to $1,200 for technology and books (first year only)
This award cannot be combined with other Missouri S&T automatic or competitive merit scholarships (e.g., Groundbreaker, Chancellor’s, or Distinguished Scholars).
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Missouri S&T National Merit Semifinalist Scholarship Package, students must:
- Be named a National Merit Semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (notification sent September 2026)
- Be a new, incoming freshman starting at Missouri S&T in Fall 2027
- Complete National Merit Semifinalist Application by March 1, 2027
- Pay enrollment deposit and complete class preference survey by March 1, 2027
How to Apply
Students who are National Merit Semifinalists should complete the scholarship application linked below. Please do not apply if you were not notified of semifinalist status.
Renewal
The tuition and fee scholarship is renewable up to 8 semesters of continuous full time enrollment with a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
National Merit Scholarship (Separate Award)
Students who advance to finalist status must list Missouri S&T as their first choice with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation to be considered for a National Merit Scholarship (a separate award from the S&T semifinalist package).
