Overview
Missouri S&T offers a competitive scholarship package to incoming fall 2026 freshmen who are named National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
This scholarship package includes:
- Tuition and fee scholarship valued at up to $12,000 per year (renewable)
- On-campus housing scholarship up to $7,000 for one year
- The S&T bookstore scholarship up to $1,200 for technology and books
This award is the same for both Missouri and out-of-state residents. It cannot be combined with other Missouri S&T automatic or competitive merit scholarships (e.g., Groundbreaker, Chancellor’s, or Distinguished Scholars).
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Missouri S&T National Merit Semifinalist Scholarship Package, students must:
- Be named a National Merit Semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (notification sent September 2025)
- Be a new, incoming freshman starting at Missouri S&T in Fall 2026

Students who are National Merit Semifinalists should complete the scholarship application linked below. Please do not apply if you were not notified of semifinalist status.

National Merit Scholarship (Separate Award)
Students who advance to finalist status must list Missouri S&T as their first choice with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation to be considered for a National Merit Scholarship (a separate award from the S&T semifinalist package). If selected, this award will stack with Missouri S&T scholarships. Learn more about the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Renewal
